Be open to your dreams, people. Embrace that distant shore. Because our mortal journey is over all too soon.David Assael

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Leonard Anthony "Blast" Matusick who was born in  Shenandoah, Pennsylvania on March 29, 1926 and passed away on April 12, 2006 at the age of 80

Blast was a kind and loving brother, husband, father and grandfather.  He is survived by his two sisters Dorothy Ferris, and Patricia Durkin; two brothers Vincent and Walter “Buster” Matusick; his wife of 59 years Marjorie; three wonderful children Marjorie-Anne, Robin, and Robert Matusick; and three grandchildren Lindsey, Jennifer, and Kayla Matusick.

Blast made a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.  Every year, the Christmas story was told on Christmas Eve by candle light.  He always made sure that the true meaning of Christmas was told.

For many years Blast inspired people and believed in them.  He always had some words of wisdom to offer people.  He often inspired people to be the best that they can be. Through working in the Navy, to working on the railroads, to working at the Daytona Auto Auction, anyone that met Blast would say that he had a wonderful attitude and an even better work ethic.  Through out his life, he acquired two nick names; Rail Bender and Blast.  It is not completely known how he acquired these nicknames.

You will live forever in our memories and hearts.
